It should be possible to turn it around. It should turn around smoothly, without any 'hickups' (be sure to completely shut down the air compressor!).

There will always be water in compressed air, unless we remove it. Check the condensate trap for good operation. There should be water coming out every few minutes. If you open up the manual drain, there should only a little water be coming out. If you have a compressed air dryer, check the dewpoint.
